Hi, I’m Sarah Guiliani, a certified McGown Rug Hooking Instructor and Director of the ATHA Region 1 School South. I teach at several rug schools though out the United States as well as teaching several classes in my studio and home state educating the public on what a remarkable media rug hooking is.
I love working with students in all types of hooking from fine cut tapestry to wide cut primitives suggesting embellishments to enhance the outcome of the hooked piece. In addition to custom drawing patterns, I will also work with commercial patterns helping you successfully complete your project. Classes and workshops will include current rug hooking topics, tips, and techniques. I like to work with a variety of textures, spots, color values and overdyed wool. I contact all students prior to a workshop to discuss rug pattern, designs, and color choices. Students may begin a new project or spark up an existing one. I am pleased to say that several of my students have had rugs featured in Rug Hooking Magazine and Celebrations. Thank you for visiting my site and I do look forward to meeting you.
I always welcome commissioned rug hooking pieces. I work with the clients and focus on their taste and what they have in mind for their rug, as well as discussing color schemes and design ideas. I also will repair rugs if they are in reasonable condition. Just contact me to discuss. Email or call.
